Oncology

Our veterinary practice is one of the best equipped to treat all types of cancer and tumours in animals. The various treatments available are tailored to the different types of cancer and are carefully considered.

The various treatments we offer are as follows:

  • Chemotherapy Chemotherapy is an anti-cancer treatment that involves administering molecules that destroy or prevent the multiplication of cancer cells. We use several validated protocols. The side effects are much less severe in our pets than in humans.

  • Electrochemotherapy This treatment can be used to treat certain skin or subcutaneous tissue tumours. An intravenous or intratumoral injection is given and then electric waves are sent by the machine to the area to be treated. This treatment has few side effects and very good results. Combined with surgery, electrochemotherapy can reduce the rate of recurrence of certain cancers or tumours in animals. This innovative technique represents an excellent compromise compared with radiotherapy, which can be very disabling.

  • Immunotherapy This treatment makes it possible to modify the functioning of the immune system in order to induce an effective anti-tumour immune response. This technique uses the animal's cancerous tumour to create a vaccine. Ten sessions of injections are required to promote tumour immunity against the tumour. This technique, used in both veterinary and human medicine, is still in its infancy, but the results are encouraging. Several types of cancer are being studied. Immunotherapy does not require hospitalisation.
